The Fundamental Idea of Credit Repair
All credit repair revolves around your rights as a consumer. The rights you have are all based around a handful of Federal and state laws.
This can be done by disputing items with the credit bureaus OR with furnishers that reported the information, like creditors and debt collectors.
With the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws, you have the legal right to dispute any information on your report. Then, the credit bureaus and furnishers have 30 days to investigate and either verify it as correct or remove the disputed information.
They are also required to mail you the results within 30 days.
So when you get the results, you will know what happened and decide on what to do next.
